Mardaani...what a movie...real world to reel world
Rani at her best…who doesn’t like to see the image of a one “man” army…even better when they are in khaki…I’ve been in Mumbai for the better part of thirty four and a half years now and there is not a speck of doubt in my mind that the most over worked and underpaid poor fellow in uniform is the simple but not ordinary cop…friends of the family have helped dad understand way back then why his son should not go to the rigors of joining the department in today’s challenging and slowly worsening times both at home and across the world…was it not yesterday that our boys in uniform had lathi’s in their hands on patrol while the trouble makers were using sophisticated automatics…the simple logic of a brave young officer decimated in duty…his wife and kids left behind to live a whole new challenge as a widowed family…who are not even called upon for follow up after the un-tolerably low “insurance” kicks in or some politician screws up on the officers much deserved hazard pay…life is tough for these guys…as a guy who has watched the watchers for a very long time…and learnt so much…! Our reliance on information from outside is so heavy that we actually rely on equipment from outside to do our jobs…! I not saying that it’s not a good thing that we pay attention…but dudes…in today’s times…how is it possible to trust equipment whose checksums and encryption comes from outside…and that too for intel gathering…! It takes some groups 5 seconds to break into a conversation, 10 seconds to actually use your voice for saying anything they want…while we were abroad and couldn’t trust a conversation we would ask one question in the conversation that only we knew the answer to…just to authenticate! Chat windows, cell phones, images, internet video etc. all are decipherable to a point where the profile needs to be created only once and can be re-used for any purposes at a later time…most of today’s tech comes from these kind of applications…compression routines are developed to efficiently store the basic parameters for a person’s voice or face…! No need to store the entire person’s data…it’s easily decipherable from his electronic or even no-electronic life…in this grid…we ourselves are optimized versions of a basic code pattern…! HE has gotta be a programmer in my limited opinion on this version of the matrix :)
