Many thanks to the Angel(a) for a wonderful visit to Munich
So i got an upgrade at work...but it came with a condition...i am now software team leader at Lear...had to go to Germany for a week for knowledge transfer...I have to admit Germans are a wonderful lot...flew direct to Munich...went to the wrong terminal at the airport and couldn't find the way out...so after passport control went to the Lufthansa counter only to see my bag being dragged into the unclaimed luggage all within less than 25 mins from landing...all that efficiency we hear about...i experienced it !!! :)...after collecting my bags went to the hotel...being in a country far far away is one thing...but having old friends in the same city as the one your'e going to is quite another thing...meet Nikhil...old pal and former Lear employee...i got his number in a single ping on messenger and he was most gracious in showing me about the BMW vault and taking me to lunch too...so i spent most of my week at work and at the hotel...knowledge transfer from Michael was quick and almost all documented (unread that ! :) )...it was easy to talk to the team there as Sudhansu was already with Lear Germany's office...i'm very very grateful to Sudhansu to help out with introductions to the team and all the other little things we tend to forget with time...it was good to put faces to the voices we only hear on the phone at work in India...Germany is a lovely place...i did arrive during what was probably the coldest time of the year...but i had packed well...while returning realised that i was only a few grams short of the weight limit...so had to accommodate with only two small boxes of chocolates...being home is a good feeling...i guess i can try another week long visit somewhere having taken the courage to fly out for the first time after 16 years since the US visit...hopefully miles to go before i sleep
