Kalam Sir....true greatness in simplicity




It is not every day that greatness is born...it is also not every day that greatness is followed...in this case both are true...Kalam Sir and all those who followed him, his books, his technical and non-technical writings and his speeches...we all need to take a minutes silence to pay our respects to him...and maybe...just maybe...we need to work even harder to prove his point that the next gen can change things for the better...today...we need not even count the number of lives touched by this scientific leader and the countless numbers that will stand in respect for this man’s journey to heaven...they can call it a state funeral...a folded flag...a twenty-one gun salute...however I think it is the start of a new revolution for this generation...or well those who take it as their mission...let’s try to see if we can wake and take this country to that page in history where his ideals and his vision of 2020 can be realized...it’s going to take a lot of work to make it by 2020...only five years to go...but then like he said...you have to dream first to make your dreams come true...! My salute to the true hero of aerospace guidance...lots of folks seem to have something to say about the time taken for the various missile programs specially the long range ones...all I have to say to these folks is that your vision is limited to a press brief that is biased...if we can launch a satellite that stays up for five years, you dummies think we can’t really launch a precision strike in like our favourite neighbour to the west using the same darn SLV...?!!! Cmon...the teachings of this scientific leader go so far beyond the obvious that even student’s today look at alternative technologies for their creative minds...and that’s eventually what he tried all his life...to ignite those minds into thinking...today we can use the distributed cell phone computing grid to communicate...but we can also re-work it to tracking purposes...who needs only conventional radar when we can “probably” pinpoint a needle in space using this ground based grid for positioning...? Not only that, but you can “probably” also configure guidance mechanisms on the same concept while using sat’s in space for space based positioning...!!! But then as he would say...you need to also look at the effect of all that radiation in the air for the future...always think of the side-effects...see the complete picture...only then is technology truly useful in its entirety...and for everyone...and cheaply. I’m going to miss him and his books...but most of all I’m going to miss his being in our future...life is short...and as he would want it...let’s get started...lets get India moving...! A good visit to Kaziranga National Park [Rhino Land] - II

Kaziranga National Park has four gates for entry into the buffer zones...the drive lasts about two hours per gate...and if you are lucky you will get a guide (gypsy driver) who is full of knowledge and will explain all the names of the birds and animals during the drive. The East gate is a bird watchers paradise...actually all gates are equally interesting...this time of the year makes it a perfect destination to visit as the river levels are low and the animals are in their natural habitat with full abundance. The brave rangers of Kaziranga that look after the wildlife round the clock...it is sad that there are still poachers in this beautiful animal paradise...needless to say that the rangers keep them at bay. Some general wildlife pictures i tried to capture with my super old Canon EOS550D with a Tamron 18-400mm lens...i would have loved to upgrade to a Canon EOS R7 with a Canon 200-800mm lens...however that combination is a bit heavy on the hands and my fingers were literally cramp...

A good visit to Kaziranga National Park [Rhino land]

I'm NOT  a professional photographer...however during my recent  visit to Kaziranga National Park as part of my annual holiday i captured the below images. These two panoramas are typical of the landscape of Kaziranga...it is spread over 430 Sq. Km....vast expanses  of fertile land covered with silt from the river Brahmaputra...the river floods every year...all the animals are affected annually. This is a typical Bamboo built structure...in this case it is a restaurant...had some local chicken here...! A visit to the Orchid Park...a very nice collection of orchids from the entire North-East India...they have kept them alive and cultivated them through a lot of sheer effort...hats off to the local Karbi folks for thinking of such an idea and developing it. There was a traditional dance program at the arena next to the orchid park...sneaked in some photos :) These are traditional dances from Assam and North-East India...typically done during harvest time etc. The Tea Factor...

A taste of Freedom :)

  It has been ages since i took the opportunity to swing the flag around...this year just happened to be the one...many people post independence feel patriotic about this day...some feel like they can take their freedom for granted...me on the other hand...i don't really go all out in the colors of the flag...but I'm quite a bit nationalistic...quite a bit conservative...and quite a bit of a kid singing those happy songs in my mind...leading the  mind readers to their own "graves" in my own sweet way...best part is they don't even mind :) maybe they don't understand...the matrix is never meant to have all the keys to the universe in one place...they are distributed all over the place...and well hidden...some in plain sight...life has been one roller coaster ride...from those streets where they sold our lives for a dollar...to these streets where the grid is too kind and provides protection and affection...we are wary and we are aware...for it is not everyday t...
