Blessed are those whose friends can make them laugh in any situation. Har ek friend jaruri hota hai. 🙂
Nana (my grandfather) would have been 100 years old today...i still remember all the good times...he was as hardworking in his years, when i knew him, as ever...one with grit and determination...always pampering us grandkids no end...was a bit strict...though i usually was a very well behaved kid and never got a proper scolding from him i think its the best times that i always remember...the world has many interpretations of his life...some remember him as a strict boss...some as a good neighbor...some as a good friend...and some as a great relative...been an interesting life...mainly because i knew he always had my back...from buying me my first cricket bat to my first bicycle...my first carron board lesson...my first card trick taught...i cant count the blessings...always spending his evening with a drink of his usual whiskey and some snack to go with it...taking me along in his car for visiting far off corners of the city to inspect various industrial units and their security ...
So this time of the year i took the annual vacation time to visit Ranthambore and Bharatpur in Rajasthan. Ranthambore is famous for its tiger sanctuary and Bharatpur for its bird sanctuary. Both places are deep rooted in history and have many a tale to tell over the past few centuries. My family suggested i use the Club Mahindra facilities available and it turned out to be a good idea. The travel desk at Club Mahindra Ranthambore was kind enough to send me a vehicle at Jaipur airport which is about 3 hours from Ranthambore. The drive was smooth and we passed by a multitude of fields [sarso and guavas being grown in large numbers]. I must add that in perspective, folks crib about AI's hallucinations, but in correcting imagery i had a first hand experience w...
Kaziranga National Park has four gates for entry into the buffer zones...the drive lasts about two hours per gate...and if you are lucky you will get a guide (gypsy driver) who is full of knowledge and will explain all the names of the birds and animals during the drive. The East gate is a bird watchers paradise...actually all gates are equally interesting...this time of the year makes it a perfect destination to visit as the river levels are low and the animals are in their natural habitat with full abundance. The brave rangers of Kaziranga that look after the wildlife round the clock...it is sad that there are still poachers in this beautiful animal paradise...needless to say that the rangers keep them at bay. Some general wildlife pictures i tried to capture with my super old Canon EOS550D with a Tamron 18-400mm lens...i would have loved to upgrade to a Canon EOS R7 with a Canon 200-800mm lens...however that combination is a bit heavy on the hands and my fingers were literally cramp...
